SIFF 2006 kicks off with the Opening Night Gala on May 25, 2006. The opening night screening, The Illusionist, stars Edward Norton as Eisenheim, an early 1900's magician in Vienna who falls in love with a woman of class. Following her engagement to the Crown Prince, the magician uses his powers to woo the woman back and create unrest in the kingdom. Jessica Biel plays the princess to be.
